Player Bio
Playing high school football in Dalton, Georgia, running back Jahmyr Gibbs was rated as a four-star prospect and the number eight running back in the nation by the 247Sports composite. Gibbs chose to stay in-state, committing to Georgia Tech over offers from Florida, Alabama and others. He spent two years at Georgia Tech, gaining 1,974 yards from scrimmage and 13 total touchdowns in 19 games. After his All-ACC sophomore year, Gibbs transferred to Alabama where he broke out, becoming an Associated Press third-team All-American as an all-purpose player. Gibbs led the Crimson Tide in receptions last season with 44, the second-most in a single season by an Alabama running back.

Jack Campbell was rated as a three-star prospect in the Class of 2019 on the 247Sports composite and chose to stay in-state and attend the University of Iowa over offers from Iowa State, Minnesota and others. After two years as a reserve, Campbell led the Big Ten in total tackles in his final two seasons. As a senior, Campbell won the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year for his 125 total tackles. He was also named a consensus All-American and won the Dick Butkus Award, given annually to the nation’s top linebacker. In addition to his 299 career tackles, Campbell had five interceptions during his time as a Hawkeye, even returning one for a touchdown in 2021.

Sam LaPorta was a three-star recruit from Highland High School in Illinois, choosing to play at the University of Iowa over offers from Central Michigan and Bowling Green. LaPorta appeared in 46 games for the Hawkeyes, tallying 153 catches for 1,786 yards and five touchdowns in his four-year career. His 153 career catches are the most among tight ends in Iowa’s storied history at the position. LaPorta led the Hawkeyes in receptions in each of the last three seasons, culminating in a 2022 First-Team All-Big Ten campaign that also had him named the conference’s Tight End of the Year. He was also a finalist for the 2022 Mackey Award, given to the nation’s top tight end.

Once on campus in Tuscaloosa, Branch made an immediate impact, seeing time in twelve games with three starts. He tallied seven passes defended and two interceptions as a freshman on Alabama’s National Championship team. Branch finished his career with 172 total tackles, 19.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions and 23 passes defended. In 2022, his 14 tackles for loss and seven passes defended helped him earn Second-Team AP All-American honors.

Hendon Hooker began his college career with four years at Virginia Tech, starting most of two seasons with the Hokies, tallying 22 passing touchdowns in 18 games. He then transferred to the University of Tennessee with his final two years of eligibility, where he helped return the school to national prominence. Hooker started 22 games as a Volunteer, totaling 7,126 yards of total offense, good for seventh in program history. In his two seasons in Knoxville, Hooker set the school record in completion percentage (68.8) while throwing for 6,080 yards and 58 touchdowns with only five interceptions. He also became just the second player in Tennessee history to throw for over 6,000 yards and rush for over 1,000 yards as a Volunteer, joining former Lion Josh Dobbs.

After his senior campaign, Martin was named a 2022 Conference USA Honorable Mention and participated in the 2023 East-West Shrine Bowl in January.
